Adelaide to Hong Kong 9-11 Sep 2013

On Monday 9 September 2013, we boarded our usual Cathay Pacific flight (CX104) to Hong Kong via a short transit lounge stop in Melbourne. Unfortunately given it's not high season in Hong Kong, we can't fly direct - this option is new and only available for a short time during the year. But that's OK. For this entire trip to Italy with stopovers in Hong Kong, this is the only non-direct flight and it's and easy one! We get to pass through International customs in little old Adelaide and sit quietly in the Melbourne transit area for less than 40 minutes before re boarding and heading to Hong Kong for a 9.50pm arrival. This is our usual trip, we've done it so many times before, we function on automatic!

All went smoothly. Although we are often known to indulge in the hotel Limousine, this trip, to save on money, we took a taxi to the hotel, which was quick and easy this time of night. As we always have Club L privileges at Langham Place Hotel (http://hongkong.langhamplacehotels.com/), we get all the extras including express check-in on the 36th floor (while being seated and offered a drink). We also receive a buffet breakfast (either in the Club L Lounge or downstairs in The Place), there are snacks all day long (including alcohol until 1am), afternoon tea, evening canapés and cocktails, sweet treats, 24 hour concierge desk, Internet access (in room and access to computers in the Club), pressing of three garments, spa freebies, and the list goes on...

A HUGE thank you to Simon McHendry, as always (Exec Assistant Manager) for upgrading our Club L Room to a Studio Club Place with 90 degree views of Hong Kong, kitchenette, and lots of extra goodies in our room (YUM!)... and although we don't quite make 1865 Gateway status until after our next stay, a big thank you to Gary for organising 4pm checkout (an extra 2 hours). Of course we indulged in our usual Chuan Spa experience (this is the second top spa in Hong Kong at our hotel, how can we resist?). We had a couples massage - we're kind of into the Chuan Harmony massage at the moment. We booked an hour, but our Club L access allowed us an additional 30 minutes to be added on.... ahhhhh, luxury at it's best :) It's really sad to leave after only 2 nights stopover, but we will be back for 5 nights/6 days to recover from jetlag on the way back home to Australia...

This is the night view from our bed through our 90 degree windows...

This is our room (Studio Club Place) during the day... check out the space!!

This is the night view from one of our windows... ahhh, isn't Hong Kong just glorious. We never get sick of being here... but bye bye for now....
